Strengthening Anganwadi Centres for Better Childhood Care

ONGC Foundation supported the development of 75 Anganwadi Centres across Jharkhand, Nagaland, Assam and Andhra Pradesh to strengthen early childhood care, maternal health, nutrition and community participation. The initiative combines improved infrastructure with worker capacity-building, nutrition awareness and sustainable, community-led interventions.

Background

Building stronger foundations in the earliest years

The project focuses on creating safer, hygienic and child-friendly learning environments while strengthening the capacity of Anganwadi Workers through regular training programmes. Nutrition awareness, supplementary interventions and community participation are integrated into the programme to support the wellbeing of children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
