ONGC Foundation supported the development of 75 Anganwadi Centres across Jharkhand, Nagaland, Assam and Andhra Pradesh to strengthen early childhood care, maternal health, nutrition and community participation. The initiative combines improved infrastructure with worker capacity-building, nutrition awareness and sustainable, community-led interventions.
The project focuses on creating safer, hygienic and child-friendly learning environments while strengthening the capacity of Anganwadi Workers through regular training programmes. Nutrition awareness, supplementary interventions and community participation are integrated into the programme to support the wellbeing of children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
The initiative strengthens both the physical environment of Anganwadi Centres and the capabilities of frontline workers delivering essential early-childhood services.
Improve accessibility, sanitation and the overall quality of Anganwadi Centre facilities.
Create safer, hygienic and engaging environments that support early learning and care.
Provide regular training and up-skilling to improve childcare practices and service delivery.
Support maternal and child nutrition through awareness, counselling and supplementary interventions.
Encourage kitchen gardens and renewable-energy solutions that strengthen centre-level sustainability.
Engage families and local communities through demonstrations, awareness programmes and childcare initiatives.
By strengthening both centres and frontline workers, the initiative supports multiple groups central to early childhood wellbeing.
