Healthcare Initiative

Advancing Affordable Healthcare In Northeast India

Located in Sivasagar, Assam, the Swargadeo Siu-Ka-Pha Multi-Speciality Hospital is a flagship healthcare initiative of ONGC Foundation focused on improving access to quality medical care across Northeast India. Developed in partnership with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan, the hospital serves remote and underserved communities of the region.

Building advanced healthcare capacity in Upper Assam

Recognizing the lack of advanced medical facilities in Upper Assam, ONGC Foundation played a pivotal role in conceptualizing, funding, and supporting the phased development of the hospital. From establishing the initial 50-bed facility to expanding it into a 305-bed multi-speciality hospital, ONGC Foundation has continuously supported infrastructure development, medical equipment procurement, operational strengthening, and advanced healthcare services.

75,700+ OPD patients treated
3,130+ IPD patients served
19,300+ Dialysis procedures conducted
2,700+ Surgeries successfully performed

Strengthening the hospital with advanced medical infrastructure

ONGC Foundation’s support enabled the development of key facilities needed to deliver advanced, reliable and accessible healthcare services.

01

Advanced Operation Theatres

Supporting surgical care through strengthened operation theatre infrastructure.

02

Dialysis Units

Expanding access to essential renal-care services within the region.

03

Blood Bank

Supporting critical care, surgeries and emergency medical requirements.

04

Cath Lab

Enabling advanced cardiac diagnosis and intervention within the hospital.

05

Emergency & Diagnostic Services

Strengthening timely diagnosis, emergency response and continuity of care.

06

Residential Facilities for Medical Staff

Supporting healthcare professionals serving communities in the region.

Making specialised care more accessible to underserved communities

The hospital forms an important healthcare ecosystem for people who may otherwise face financial or geographical barriers to specialised treatment.

Remote communities: improved access to advanced healthcare closer to where people live.
Economically weaker patients: access to subsidised treatment and quality medical services.
Specialised care: reduced dependence on long-distance travel outside the region for treatment.
Regional health capacity: stronger infrastructure, equipment and operational capabilities in Northeast India.

Strengthening preparedness during a public-health emergency

During the COVID-19 pandemic, ONGC Foundation further strengthened the hospital’s response capacity through support for COVID care services, PPE distribution, testing support and community healthcare outreach.
